I'm new to this board, have been monitoring since early April when I ''rotated'' into the Oil sector - hopefully ahead of the wave that is coming... Trust me. they are coming.
It has been amazing how we first saw just a few analysts start to mention the oil driller and service sector about 4-6 weeks ago on CNBC etc; now every analyst and every media source is talking about the oil sector. CNBC is commenting on the oil sector now on each and every market review. In my opinion we just need that correction in the DOW to shake people out of Blue Chips, techs and financials into oil. Sector rotation is the keyword for what I anticipate will be a massive influx of cash into the oil sector.
I can not believe the number of values that I find in this sector. My biggest problem is not finding stocks to buy, but paring down my buy list to a manageable number of oil sector stocks to own.
RGinPG - love your site, I'm new to stochastics and Bollinger Bands etc. trying to add technical analysis to my fundamental analysis of this sector. Am I correct in that HMAR is perfectly poised on your stochastic chart to breakout? In reviewing most of the stocks you monitor; it looked like HMAR had the best chart. In the Marine/Boat sector I am long on HMAR, TDW and especially bullish on HLX. Waiting for the massive short interest to cover on TDW... they are sure holding their breath a long time on TDW.
I'm also long on a couple of small caps that I have not seen much discussion on this board about. Comments, anyone on OMNI, TCMS, and BDI. I was especially impressed by both the niche stories, valuations and explosive growth potential on OMNI & TCMS; bought them as my first oil sector stocks after 3 weeks of research. I was especially looking for long term small cap oils that had fallen with the fall of the Oil sector and had unique niches or products with the upside growth potential to double or triple a few years out.
Own CDG,GLM,DO,FLC,NE in deep & shallow drillers; thinking of selling GLM & NE and concentrating more into CDG & FLC. In land drillers own BDI,UTI,PKD,PTEN. Own PDS,EVI,MIND, as well. |
