Pep Boys Enters 34th State - Washington

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 1998--The Pep Boys - Manny, Moe & Jack (NYSE: ''PBY''), the nation's leading automotive aftermarket retail and service chain, announced the opening of its first store in the state of Washington.

The 19,900 sq. ft. Supercenter, which is located in Everett, features 10 service bays and more than 27,000 automotive parts, accessories and tires.

Pep Boys currently operates 711 stores in 34 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Pep Boys' CEO, Mitchell G. Leibovitz, made the following comment:
