Oh, Matthew, this is all so funny I just couldn't let it go without razzing you a little bit more. My goodness!! You stated to Penni that only genius can recognize genius, and then decided that she wasn't as much of one as Father Terrence. I guess she should consider that a compliment, because you've been wrong a lot lately. I bet Penni can hold her own against Terrence!!
You lack of a keen sense of people, I guess. You've really been mucking around with me and my friends, Matthew, and I think you must be feeling pretty confused by now, because you didn't really win the argument. The artifical construct of elitism you set up is looking pretty flimsy!! You took on two seemingly helpless and inferior women, a housewife and an office worker, and seem to be a little the worse for wear, since your remarks have been censored and you've revealed a less than gentlemanly demeanor. Aren't elitists like you at least expected to be polite and gallant?? I think you must have learned that in prep school! Maybe you forgot.
Without doing any research at all you decided that Maurice was blue collar and were rude over at Ariel about it (see Feelings post #682 and inform yourself of a few of the facts in the matter). Then you tried to annoint Freddy, who has been revealed belatedly to be a mailman, oh, no, totally blue collar, with sainthood over at Ask John Galt because of his superior intellectual skills. How does that fit into your stratified and ultimately inaccurate way of looking at people?? Realizing this was not really an honor coming from you, I guess, he graciously declined.
Anyway, you got quite a lot wrong. Besides that, your thread was dying before that interesting debate on free will and determinism got started. You ought to be appreciative of all the intellectual energy over there now being contributed by such a motley crew of postal workers and lazy Kiwis. Blonde bimbos Penni and Christine cheerleading of course; rah, rah Freddy and Maurice!!!!! You're not a total loss though, Matthew, you were very perceptive about the Chimp and I really enjoyed your post on him. Thanks for that. Do you have some feelings now? I still wish you'd be real; maybe this has been a little bit of a learning experience for you. Hope so!!! You're so smart you'd be really cool if you were nice also!!
