Something is happening right now. I see it too but I don't know what it will lead to. Some clues, Bob Levey, the local 'feel-good' columnist is asking for information on Y2K. A friend a mine was a party, he mentioned Y2K and a hush fell over the room... it was like the "who's your broker? Well, EF Hutton says..." commercials.
Something's happening.

The good news is that we had a heads-up. We had last year to prep for this. We have some time left, a few weeks, months. We know something's going to happen.
Sure the banks are going down, the raids at BankBoston are raging now, but BB can rescue their team by paying whatever it takes, ... what ever it takes.
When this is over, and abel collects his ten walking liberties, we'll get together, our shadows stretching across the parched land, pour a couple drinks and raise our cups to the greatest feats of software engineering ever, the futile but heroric struggle to keep the technological infrastructure intact.
How many will survive the event? How bad will it be? We'll see, stay tuned to c.s.y2k as Info, DD, secor, :dave, pam, and all the others, posters and lurkers alike, denial-heads and the perceptive wise scholars, prepare themselves, their communities, and corporations for Y2K.
We are seeing history happen, are a part of something greater than the industrial revolution, the steam engine, and the germ theory of medicine.
cory hamasaki Please, someone remediate the donut factories.
