I showed it to a friend that has a laserdisc and he went wild, ordering 11 of the LDs. Lots of laserdisc owners may benefit from the DVD switch because older titles are coming way down in price.

If Image Entertainment can sell directly to the installed laserdisc population, this upcoming quarter will have a nice bump in revenue as well as a decrease in inventory.

They seemed to have put on hold their internet commerce development. Makes me wonder if they aren't signing one or more of the big e-commerce retailers up to be their front-end. I can think of Borders.com and Amazon.com, the former is unveiling their site this week while the latter bought Internet Movie Database as preparation for their entering the video market.

In any case, the internet should help DISK get laserdiscs out to their customers as the retail stores reduce their inventory.

As a side note, I think DISK's work on DTS is very signficant. My friend thought that Spielberg was reluctant to release to DVD without DTS. If DISK locks up DTS distribution, don't they automatically get all DVDs/LDs with DTS? DTS is just starting to gain momentum in terms of the hardware.
