If you look at the buying patterns of the average
american during the 1965-1975 period, it makes you
wonder. Back then you could buy a medium size BMW
for about as much as one of those "kleenex" oversized
american cars that lasted you one or two years.


Speaking as someone who actually does marketing development for an automobile manufacturer (Volvo Motorcars of America), buyers at that time were basing their purchasing decisions on perceptions of power.

Apple now trashes indentically priced Compaqs in this category by better than 200%. Try again.
