Lucretius, I think you have the answer to why Dell's volume has decreased recently. In an earlier post you congratulated my intelligence when I pointed out that playing the split game is a the greater fool in action. I would similarly point out that day trading stocks like KTEL is similar -- Venkie likened it to playing craps. But to play this game the capital has to come from somewhere. I submit that the reason that DELL's volume has decreased is due to the fact that there is much greater speculative interest in other areas, and in the past DELL was the subject of considerable speculation. Thus, the decrease in volume indicates nothing, because the stock turnover of those of us who are long-term investors has not changed.

This is another example of what I believe to be the fallacy of over-reaching. While the observation of declining volume is true, your conclusion does not follow.
