I Just received an email from Ioptics.

"Thank you for your interest regarding investing in Ioptics and our
revolutionary OROM technology.

Currently, the company is privately held with funding comprised of
investments from Microsoft, Polaris Venture Partners and certain
individuals.

We are targeting mid 1999 to bring OROM to market and expect to go public shortly thereafter. However, right now we are sufficiently funded to complete our product prototype and don't anticipate another round of financing that would include individual investors.

For additional news releases and the most up-to-date product information, please stay posted to our web site, www.ioptics.com. We will keep your name in our database for any future announcements pertinent to your request.

Again, we appreciate your interest.

Sincerely,
Steve Hubbard
CFO"

That mid-1999 IPO is going to be one hell of an offering. Ioptic's OROM is virtually assured of being a Standard in portable data distribution. It uses very little power, no moving parts, and is cheap at $2 per 128MB card (presently slated to increase to 1 Gig). And, OROM drivers are already being included in the latest version of Windows CE.
