Ah, yes, my uncle used to do that (it was off the deck of a truck, they say), but I could see him and hear him, the faith had a basis in my perception of reality at the time. On words alone - no way.
That same uncle, btw, himself fell out of an apple tree onto a picket fence when he was 9 or 10, gashing his cheek. The muscles never did heal completely and give him a lopsided smile that has always endeared him to the ladies. Also, as it happens, he is a fairly strongly religious man, a Testigo de Jehov (Jehovah's Witness). Anybody here have any thoughts on this group and their beliefs? There have been a number of them in my family and the family of my wife (majority are cat¢licos) ....... just curious .... cheers |
