Jane,

Just wandering through and read your post. Actually, what I find appalling is not so much Jon Benet, but the fact that thousands of children in this country are abused and killed, but their stories never make it into the paper. They are the poorer children who don't have rich parents. The only reason Jon Benet's case made such headlines is the fact that she had such wealthy parents who were so prominent.

You will see a passing mention of other abused children, but if it were not for their place in society, the Ramsey story would be long forgotten.

I just read a blurb in the paper about a 28 year old man who was given 40 years in prison for locking up his 7 year old daughter in a dog cage at night in a cold dark basement. His 11 year old son walked into a police station to report the incident. The son walked in barefoot, without a coat, in freezing weather. The 28 year old mother will be on trial soon.

I hope they lock the both of 'em up and throw away the keys for the rest of their lives. Abuse of children should never be tolerated. The animals that do things like this should be put in cages themselves.

Hal
