Greetings Puddinhead, Yes we are indeed 180 degrees apart on Daniels prophecy. The Lord Jesus Christ perfectly completed Dan. 9:24 as was told to Daniel, by the angel Gabriel. At the start of the 70 th week Jesus began His public ministry and was anointed by the Spirit. approximately 3 1/2 years later or mid-week He was cut -off, or crucified, for the sins of all mankind. He for-ever abolished all sacrifices for sin once and for all. He now sits and reigns at the right hand of the Father. To say that verse 27 is the anti-christ borders on blaspemy and is the product of false teachers who thrive on gullible christians in this part of the world. The true Israel of God today is the Christian Church, His Body, His Bride, which is comprised of all peoples and nations who are, even now " seated in the New Jerusalem". ( Spiritual Kingdom) Matthew 24, 1-22 has already taken place around 70 A.D. This discourse of Jesus was with His disciples pertaining to the questions they asked Him. He told them what would transpire and some of them remembered His Words when they were encompassed during the seige of Jerusalem, first by Vespavian, then by Titus, both Roman Generals. To take scripture, from the lips of Jesus addressed to his own disciples, and try and twist it and make it address people 2000 years later is dishonest and violates the integrity of Gods Holy Word. Puddinhead, you have been deceived by false teachers into believing that the modern state of Israel, which is apostate and anti-christ according to biblical definition, has some special status with Almighty God because of who they once were. God no longer deals with one specific people ( Israel ) as He did under the Old Covenant, but now , through the fullfillment of the promise given to Abraham, and fullfilled by the Lord Jesus Christ, ALL PEOPLES have equal opportunity to come to the Messiah.
