From 10-30-96 WSJ report:

"A group including investor George Soros reported a 7.22% aggregate investment stake in Amati Communications Corp. (AMTX) in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The group said it holds about 1.28 million common shares of Amati, a San Jose, Calif.-based manufacturer of transmission equipment and network connectivity systems.

The group acquired the shares through an investment agreement with the company, under which the group has the right to purchase up to $15 million of common shares at a 15% discount from market prices. "

At the time of the story $15 was the approx. discount price.

I don't recall saying anything about call options.

Soros was an early investor, the deal is describe in the stock perspectus. He must continue to have confidence in AMTX.
