Question re unfair advantage:

I believe that there are at least two other national companies which provide 800 numbers for feedback on their clients' press releases and financials. From memory here ... so others leap in to correct, please ... but one is PRNewswire.

TSIS does not have an "unfair advantage" in the classical sense, as in a "barrier to entry" (marketing jargon). Often these take the form of patents or similar. But its approach is Interactive Voice Response (IVR) ... sorta like using a telephone as an input and output device for a massive computer. This approach permits many different applications. For instance, they have the ability for a caller to input his ZIP code and immediately receive info on the nearest store. Another possibility is processing credit cards by touch tone phone, instead of through expensive credit card "swiping" terminals. Etc, etc, etc.

TSIS also has an advantage in what I call "assembly cost". Their services are installed and up and operating and completely beta-tested. Any new competitor would have to go through the same agonies just to get to this point, by which time TIS presumably would have moved on.
