Autobahn is MCOM's next generation technology. It promises 128K connectivity. Paul Allen has focused the company on rolling out Autobahn as soon as possible (1999). That's why the push behind the current Ricochet technology has come to a halt more-or-less (no marketing). I had recently gotten indications that MCOM is making good progress on Autobahn and I am hopeful that there will be demos of the technology before the end of the year. MCOM's forte so far has been _affordable_ wireless internet connectivity. They are much more cost effective than current cellular solutions. I expect that satellite based solutions will be even more expensive than cellular. This gives MCOM an edge (albeit only in areas with installed coverage). Chip Wireless in Seattle via MCOM Ricochet
