Yes, it is puzzling, if one assumes that the US market is significantly influenced by the Korean market. However, remember that the Japanese market dropped from 38,000 or so to 14,000 from 1989 to the present. In the mean time, the US market went up about four fold. It is obvious that the US market has not been significantly influenced by the Japanese market over the last 10 years. In fact, quite the contrary.

If the Japanese market debacle over the last 10 years has not significantly impacted the US market, why should the Korean market significantly influence the US market?
