Well, Linda-
about that 97% of people not using macs--
When I look at the web use statistics, which are done by server requests to popular sites, we find that about 20% of people surfing the web use macs.
"On the web, nobody knows you are a dog." - in other words, I am using Windows95 right now, while my last post was using my mac, and there are NT4 posts from me on the board, too.
I have an article at home, from Network World Fusion site, that says Office98 is being developed in a flavor that uses HTML as the native file format for the new Word. (in softiespeak, mystuff.doc will be stored as mystuff.htm on save) I am skeptical, as I know a lot of html limitations- and even if it is so, I expect Softie to come out with it's own flavor of html commands- because they always pull that crap. I'll post it if anyone asks.
The web is the killer app. I'm sure of it. It makes the 33k modem all the more interesting.Me- I have a great local ISP, and they say a solid 40-45k is about all one can expect on a regular basis, 3com modem to 3com at the ISP.
gotta go!
