I have never purchased anything using the net--other than trading stocks. Have you done so? In fact, how many people on this thread have done so--and even if they have, how significant have these purchases been?

I'm a people, so I'll respond. My 'net purchases, excepting trading:

Item - source
-------- ----------
1 book -- Amazon.com
3 CD set, 3 cassette set -- Not from K-Tel, were specialty items.
1 notebook computer (group gift, I ordered it) - NWCD.com

Not a large list, but I was comfortable with it. I'll add that I've bought a few peripheral upgrade items and a PC by mail-order (phone order) -- and I plan to order exclusively from internet sites for all future computers/peripherals. Reason - That way I know the order will be correct. When I mail-ordered my current Dell by phone a couple years ago, the order got screwed up just because the salesperson neglected to put the order in correctly.
