LT, I've repeatedly argued in the past that Windows 98 will not be a driver for Dell sales. I cannot imagine someone deferring a hardware purchase because of the Windows 98 release. Many observers believe that it is really just a maintenance upgrade. A piece in the NY Time technology section last week discussed this at length.

The release of Windows NT 5.0, on the other hand, probably is such a driver.

So this particular sucker sees this as a non-event. Speaking of non-events, how does the drop in gold to under $300 fit into your doom and gloom scenario? Have you bought your previously owned (ca. 1960) personal survival shelter yet?

TTFN,
