NEW YORK, May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Commodore Separation Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: CXOT - news) announced today that Dr. W.S. Winston Ho, a world-renowned leader in the development of membrane separation technology, has been named Senior Vice President, Technology.
''Dr. Ho is considered one of the world's foremost experts in the development and commercialization of membrane technology,'' said Paul E. Hannesson, Commodore chairman and CEO. ''Early in his career, Dr. Ho worked at Allied Chemical where he invented and developed the membrane solvent extraction process in the early 1970s. Later working for Xerox and Exxon, Dr. Ho has had 27 years of research and development experience in membrane and separation process. A New Jersey Inventor of the Year of 1991, Dr. Ho holds more than 40 U.S. patents in membrane and separation processes.''
Dr. Ho is immediate past chairman of the Separation Division, American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He is co-author and editor with Dr. K. Sirkar, Distinguished Professor, Chemical Engineering, Sponsored Chair at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, of the preeminent book on membranes, Membrane Handbook. For this book, Drs. Ho and Sirkar received the Professional and Scholarly Publishing Award for the most outstanding engineering work in 1993. A native of Taiwan, Dr. Ho holds an undergraduate degree from National Taiwan University and both a Masters and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
