Mr. Dryer,

<<SI was built on the subject/response paradigm.>> Notwithstanding your
disclaimer shortly after that statement regarding uncharted waters, the
progenitor of the subject/response paradigm just has to be Stan Lee, of Marvel
Comics fame. In grade school during the "duck and cover fifties," I marveled
at the Letters to the Editor section. If you're looking for a grand old tradition
that you appear to have replicated here on SI then there you find it! Stan Lee
treated every letter with the same attitudes you convey here on SI. It is a
high achievement. Kudos to you all!

God bless him, the Lee dude is still sucking air and still at the helm. I swear
that Marvel Comics are the best philisophical/sociological periodicals in print.
SI should do so well!

Now for my request. <VBG> Is there a way you could allow me to retrieve a posting
in process should my modem wink out all of a sudden, clipping me offline? It
happened to me again today right as I was finishing one of my *way-too-long*
postings. All that work lost, forever. There has to be some way your server could
hold at least the last "preview" copy of my post. Please say you can!
