Reposting the URL for an opening post is a bit different from your original question (replying to the opening post), but both can be covered here:

1. In this message you're reading (mine - #1321) there should be a field with the "reply #" in the upper right area of the text box. Highlight the number w/ your cursor (drag your cursor across the number with the mouse button held down). With the number now highlighted, type "0", press the return key.

This will "jump" you to Post #0. Click "Respond".

2. Or, for the URL, once you are at Post#0, you can select the post URL from the field at the bottom of your screen which is labeled: "To link to this reply, use the following Location".

Additionally, if you're intent is simply to post the URL, a slightly easier albeit roundabout method is to post the Subject URL.

Search on "Welcome" for example, and you will find this thread. Use your browser's "Copy Link Location" function and then paste into your new post. When the reader clicks on the Subject URL in your new post, they'll be able to see the opening message.

3. Another route: to the right of "Last 7 Days", when you are looking at the opener and posts combined, is a link: "Respond" -- that should allow you to respond to the opener.
