IMHO, Microsoft isn't worried about the browser "market." (Not much of a market if they're free.) I think Microsoft is worried about someone coming up with an internet interface that morphs into an operating system, and that their actions are more defensive than offensive. Whenever someone comes up with an attractive interface to the internet, I believe Microsoft will react. I have heard that when Christian missionaries reached India, the Hindus accepted Jesus as a God, with all of their other Gods. That's Microsoft and the internet.
