I do not think the hedge funds will be caught in the same predicament this time. This means that they will not react at a 50 day MA bounce, but at the same time, may not have purchased a boatload of PUTs this time around. So I think we will see the market "soften" at this point, and consolidate. No rocket bounces this time around. But if some significant market event occurs like where the 50 day MA is broached, perhaps the hedge funds will be throwing around their wads of money to purchase PUTs like there is no tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what happens this time around. The psychology of the hedge fund manager, Part II.
