Uh, Name a single Facist state that has come from the left. The Nazis were clearly a right wing party, and nobody at the time believed they were socialists. They never were. The use of the word "socialist" in the party name was propaganda. No communists in Germany espoused Naziism. While I grew up in Germany, I find that most Americans are not well educated on German history, particularly the period between the two world wars that gave rise to the third reich.

Facism comes from the right. The central tenant is the state's control of individual actions. Best recent examples are the right wing's attempts to control reproduction (just like Hitler did) and Reagan's plan to put anti-war protesters in concentration camps. (Its in public FEMA documents.) Even better is the right wings persecution of gays, just as the Nazis persecuted the Jews. The persecution of a class of people is one of the primary motivational techniques of facsists. Notice that Communists don't use this.

Libertarians believe in economic and social freedom. Liberals believe in social freedom. Conservatives believe in economic freedom. I find it hard to believe that a party organized around the the preservation of social liberty would give rise to a fascist movement. I await your example of one.
