FWIW, Corel just made an announcement at the Ontario Carlton Linux User's Group (OCLUG) that (a) all the software development done by Corel Computer (the OS port and development tools, not the Corel applications) for an StrongARM-based (300MHz SA-110S) Linux computer is going to be released under an open source license, and that (b) Corel is committing to porting *all* of their applications to Linux. WordPerfect Suite 8.0 will sell on Linux for $99. One person at the meeting had a laptop and posted a running commentary on IRC; a transcript of what got posted on IRC is available at linux.mit.edu. The StrongARM-based Linux computer will ship June 1 for about $1000. There'll be a diskless version, a 32MB/1.2GB runtime version and a 64MB/5GB developer version. It is the size of a notebook PC. There is no decision yet on ports of the Corel applications to other platforms but they expect that the Linux port will give the "critical mass that they need to enter other markets".
