My experience with this stock impresses upon me the limits of rational analysis, the limits of man's ability to predict the future by rational means, the incorrigibility of the unexpected and the irrational in human affairs and the limitations of the social sciences (economics and stock analysis included) versus the hard sciences. There could not have been a smarter, more thorough, more diligent, more informed, more rational bunch of contributors here and on AOL than David James, et al. I think we were, if anything, TOO rational, too absorbed in the data and all the so careful, so thoughtful numbers-crunching--that all went up in smoke. And thus gave too little weight to the unexpected and the all-too-human in this company's affairs. What is the take-home message? ....Verify but Diversify?
