if you have seen me on threads then you know my humor and I did put a wink there
you killed anybody yet or still hanging in there on that no smoking campaign? ;-)
Now D.Jankjo: Thank you for your response. It seems to me that most countries operate on this usage based system and it is prohibitive for the expansion of the internet (not to mention cultural issues etc etc etc...especially in Middle Eastern countries).
So people who can access through the University or through their work are going to be the biggest users at this point.
My next question is....Could you please comment on this post that was sent to me. I have no knowledge really on the progress of these things in most foreign countries. Btw, I called a friend of mine in Turkey today. He laughed when I asked if the telephone costs were coming down as Robert indicated they were ;-)

Most emerging countries now are going directly cellular and wireless. Cheaper, more effecient, faster than laying landlines. I just saw a report how foreign usage will blow past the US in Internet usage very soon. (Now, remember what I said about the Internet growing EXPONENTIALLY faster than TV, radio, telephone, cars) Here you go, Lisa: "Motro saw non-U.S. users doing the majority of Internet searching in three to five years, while Koogle said 40 percent of all of Yahoo!'s web site use -already- originates outside the United States, and that level is growing."
The companies with the best overseas relationships and contracts will benefit the most. And it will be enormous overseas. p.s. Telephone costs are coming way down, but most user won't even be accessing by phone. It'll mainly be cable and wireless/satellite available to common people. |
