Posters to the CCUR thread have been boasting about the apparently superior demonstrations of the MediaHawk video server over that of SEAC at the NCTA show. For SEAC investors who may be concerned about this, check out the response from SEAC IR about the VOD demonstrations in Atlanta:

"Dear Alan,

The response was very positive at the NTCA Show, although we did have
intermittant failures between our demo and the SA Booth. Here's what
happened:

SeaChange was the only VOD demo that was actually working across a true RF network between the SeaChange Booth and The Scientific Atlanta
Booth. The headend equipment was in the SeaChange Booth, and we were
were running live across the show floor. This was using Beta Equipment that we had just 48 hours to get up and running. Indeed, we did have some glitches but we felt overall that people were impressed with the strength of the technology and our relationship with SA.

Concurrent and others were running fabricated demos optimized for the
tradeshow. Please don't be mislead by tradeshow smoke and mirrors.

While we were disappointed that the demonstration had intermittant
failures, we are pleased that we were the only video server vendor who
is ready to demonstrate integration of our VOD platform in a real RF
plant environment."

Long on SEAC
Alan
