Yes Govt. is involved, but also the Net on this day of the merger is an instrument of the influence of global companies, at least as powerful, as any single govt. It's absolutely basic to a transformation that has been going on for a long time -- a critical (I'm looking for the word that means things coming together and becoming something else) event. The internet is not airplanes, tv, or just computer -- it's more akin to printing -- It already is causing paradigm shifts akin to Columbus in how people have to deal with people. As a group, we are globally varied, brought together by a financial interest in a company -- this is something new under the sun.
