When I bought a new system at Compusa, I asked about a backup device and about Syquest. The man just shook his head and said get a zip drive from IOM. The drives are walking out of the store like hot cakes both new and refurbished. J&R ran a full page promotion in NYTimes for IOM zip and Jaz, both machines refurbished, but you had to buy 10 disks with the total package. Local Staples stores gets delivery every 3 days. They are all out of zip disks by the time the third day rolls along.
Anyone else have stories from the trenches? That's what we need to hear. Sales from all of this advertising IOM and local coop ads are doing.
