You have revealed your underlying attitude in your post, DCF, when you say that your wife would like you to be the spiritual leader of the family. Why can't a woman be that? Are you a Promise Keeper? As far as the Holocaust, the Pope has just apologized for the role of the Church in complicity with the Nazis. Do you read much history, or current events? The Inquisition was a Church event, so I am surprised you do not know that.
