I wouldn't worry about Y2K. We're not going to make it that far. Sep 9, 1999 is going to be here first. That date goes in as 9999 which is 'end file' for a lot of old legacy systems.

Actually, on systems without the century digits, September 9, 1999 is stored as 990909 (YYMMDD). Both the month and the day of the month use two digits to express their values. Any screen prompting the user for a date would likewise allocate space for a two digit month and a two digit day of the month.

Y2K is real, though.
