MAGN was one of about half a dozen stocks
which were listed in a follow-up article to
the recent cancer hype in the WSJ on Thursday.

If anybody has any recent info on MAGN's work
on Asthma, It would be much appreciated.

folks who "hype" their ideas, then don't

RGEN is my current play in this area.
If you are into charts, it was already
slowly rising before the recent spike,
if it dips back around 1.5 it may be
a good deal. On the other hand, it may
be a good bet right now, and I'm back
in at 2, after having traded it on the
spike day.

Another biotech keeps coming up on my
radar, you folks may be interested in it too,
it is not in the same area tho
"AMLN is focused on identifying and developing novel
therapeutics for treating people with diabetes and other
metabolic disorders. For the fiscal year ended 12/31/97,
revenues rose 19% to $42.6 million. Net loss rose 45% to
$54.6 million. Revenues reflect sales from the Collaboration
Agreement with Johnson and Johnson and $9 million in option
fee payments made by Johnson and Johnson. Loss reflects costs
for expanding pramlinitide clinical development efforts and
increased staffing costs.
