Greetings Puddinhead, and to all who love the Lord Jesus Christ. To properly answer your question according to what I believe is the teaching in scriptures, believers must understand first, who is the true Israel of God from Calvary to the end of time. Is it a specific blood line of people ( Israel ), chosen by God to bring forth the promised Messiah, according to the promise made to Abraham in Gen 12:3, or is it a great company of believers from all nations and peoples( including Israel) who have the faith of Abraham and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Failure to believe that the " Church now is the true Israel of God " leads into serious error and myths in which we now find ourselves. Matthew 24:15 , " abomination of desolation" has come and gone nearly 2000 years ago when Jerusalem was destroyed by the Roman armies. Please consider our Father Abraham, who having received the promise of land from God, when it came time to bury his dead he had to buy a piece of this land. Abraham was not looking for a piece of real estate but was looking for the city whose maker and builder is God ( Hebrews 11:10 ). We , the Church are now part of that new city. the new Jerusalem, a spiritual city comprised of all who have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. May The Holy Spirit grant you and all to see the truth hidden in His holy word. Robert
