Re: Clinton faces storm over missile secrets

Ramsey, I read with a great deal of interest the article you posted, from the South China Morning News. I doubt that there is much cause for concern. From observation, the Chinese missile program has been a threat only to those who live in the immediate vicinity of the launching pad.

How does Congressman Rohrabacher come to the conclusion that this is not another sex scandal? I mean aren't we talking projectiles standing erect, leaping forward with a powerful thrust into space? Furthermore, Congressman Rohrabacher put it aptly, when he called himself the head of a vigorous probe.

Several statements in the article shed light upon what Gringrich, Armey et al, are really concerned about:
"Loral's chief executive Bernard Schwartz has given more than US$1million (HK$7.74million) in political donations in the past two years, virtually all of it to the Democratic Party."

"Another Republican leader, Congressman Dick Armey, said:"This is a matter of consequence when the contractor is a substantial contributor to the Democratic Party.""

My guess is that the matter would cease to be "a top Republican priority" if Bernie were to make a substantial (ie $1million) donation to the Republican widows and orphans fund.
