EGRP's up-time is excellent and it's much more likely that a network component between your system and the E*Trade site(s) (there are probably 20 or more) is not working properly when there are "E*Trade problems". Of course, you could open an account with some other brokerage and maintain 2 accounts and test them both when one seems to go down - I don't necessarily recommend it. You should also ask yourself whether you can honestly expect not to have *any* problems using another service (only in your dreams).

E*Trade's services are *much* better than most other services too. I'm neither long, short, or straddling - just a very satisfied customer.
