Abacus Minerals: Phase II Drilling to Commence

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--Abacus Minerals Corporation announces that a Phase II diamond drilling program will commence on May 11 at the La Manchuria property in Santa Cruz, Argentina. The Phase II drilling will begin in the area of LM98-2, the high grade discovery hole which reported grades of 6.53 g/t gold and 22.3 g/t silver over 58.05 metres. LM98-2 is believed to represent the most significant discovery since the discovery of Anglo American's Cerro Vanguardia Mine (80 kilometres east of La Manchuria) in the mid-1980's.

The La Manchuria project is an epithermal gold-silver prospect which offers the potential to host a multi-million ounce gold deposit similar to numerous other districts world-wide.

Assay results for drill holes LM98-3 to LM98-7 will be reported as soon as they are received.
