Maurice------
It's funny you say that. I asked the same question to myself a couple of months ago. To satisfy my curiousity, I spoke to a friend of mine that is in the import/export business, where he knows quite a few people in Europe specializing in electronics.
His responded to me, after questioning numerous individuals, that "smart phones" have been eagerly awaited in Europe, especially in Germany. With major European companies such as Ericcson & Nokia, they have a lot of stake on this baby, and do not want it to sink. He told me demand and exposure of the product are rising weekly.
Soon, they will hit the U.S. market. First, as usual, prices will be very high on these phones (like all other new technologies), and the first batch of consumers will almost definately be business oriented consumers, who live and die to up-to-the minute information.
If you remember, in the mid 80's, celluluar phones were introduced, and the prices were astronomical to say the least. A little over a decade later, you can get these phones for dirt cheap.
I think that the more computer literate the population is, the better the market for smart phones. People who use computers on a daily basis, will almost definately need a portable PC that has an extensive amounts of uses and benefits. Lets face it, it will be very rare for a person to buy a smart phone who does not have a computer. A correlation can be drawn between the computer industty and smart phones.
Overall, I keep on loving the stock more and more by the day.
