E4 Ships First DVD Upgrade Kit for Macs
DVD Upgrade Kit Brings High-End DVD to Power Macintosh G3 ----------------------------------------------------------------------
SAN JOSE, Calif.--Jan. 8, 1998 -- E4 (Elecede Technologies Inc.), a Leading supplier of DVD add-in board solutions for PC manufacturers, this week announced that it will begin shipping CoolDVDT, the world's first MacintoshT DVD upgrade kit that provides the cleanest MPEG-2 digital imagery, the purest Dolby Digital sound, and the most diverse entertainment choices for Appler Power Macintoshr G3 Series of computers. CoolDVD is now available and has an expected retail price of $499.
The CoolDVD upgrade kit features E4's first-to-market DVD decoder card, DVD-ROM drive with ATAPI/Enhanced IDE interface. CoolDVD utilizes the ZiVA DVD decoder from C-Cube, and Auravision's VxP524 Video Stream Processor to achieve the highest quality video processing and playback, as well as the ability to be compatible with all graphics cards. CoolDVD also includes E4's CoolDVD navigation software and an array of bundled DVD entertainment titles.
