Cryptologic Announces 2nd Quarter Results; Growth in Revenues; Growth in Earnings
TORONTO, ONTARIO--CryptoLogic Inc. today announced its results for the three months ended June 30, 1997. Revenues for the quarter ended June 30, 1997 were $3.6 million, bringing its six-month revenue to $5.3 million. The company had no revenues in the same period last year, as it was in its start-up phase.
After tax net earnings for the second quarter were $2.3 million, bringing its net earnings for the past six months to $3.4 million. This compares with the loss of $0.2 million for the second quarter period last year. Basic earnings per share in the second quarter, 1997 were $0.35, bringing the six-month total to $0.55 per share. On a fully diluted basis, earnings per share were $0.16 for the quarter and $0.24 for the first six months of 1997. There are approximately 7 million common shares currently outstanding.
CryptoLogic's growth momentum continues, as witnessed by a comparison of this quarter versus the first quarter. Revenues more than doubled, while earnings nearly doubled. On a per share basis, basic earnings rose 75 percent, while fully diluted earnings doubled.
