You clearly do not know what market makers do. They act as agents for clients - that is how they make money. There is a bid and an ask. the bid is the smaller of the two numbers. When you buy a stock, a market maker profits from your trade. They make money due to the difference between the big number and the small number. I've tried to make it easy for you to understand, but if it is too tough for you, try asking peanut butter guy. Even though he also lied to you about the effects of "moving a stock from margin to putting into a cash account in order to cause a short squeeze". I pick my nose and flick a green one at you.
