Yes I believe that Nelson is a good engineering manager. That I think is clear. But the company is in a different phase now.

He certainly did not handle the FDA process well. If you want to go into that in detail, I am prepared to.

He doesn't handle the analyst community well. Again I am prepared to provide details.

I don't think he handles the marketing and sales process well.

I don't think he handled the gain reimbursement process well.

I don't think he handled the monitoring the alliance process well.

These are a lot of areas where he is weak to very very poor.

In other companies, the founder has had the good sense to know when he should move over and let someone else take the lead. After all, I am sure Nelson owns a lot of stock and would like it to go up.

It is no disgrace to found a company and bring it to this point. Why not let it grow and bloom? Ego is a tough thing to control but it is necessary.

Sure NPTH has a lot of possibilities. You mention shape recognition as being a valuable core competency. Yes but it is nothing very new. I worked for Kennecott Copper in the seventies and we looked for manganese nodules on the ocean floor with similar technology. Toll boths determine the required tool by identifying the class of the vehicle this way and nothing much would happen in our factories without machine vision. OCR is machine vision.

Some say that NSIX actually has better technology so we shouldn't become too complacent.

You seem to know a lot about NPTH. What about their culture towards work? It seems to me that a lot of people have just been siting around for the last year waiting for the FDA to act. Do they have a lot of video games on their computers? How is their chess competency and Go?

How many papers have they submitted? At which conferences have they presented? Anyone can talk a good game. I want to see results.
