Bill, the USB takes the place of serial and parallel ports. The hubs are powered 6 USB arrangements. USB is daisy chainable. I think the max is 24 devices theoretical. USB provides power as well as I/O so most devices except scanners for instance don't need separate power cords. I've read about some neat USB devices like a guitar teaching CD that comes with a USB enabled guitar. As it coaches you songs it has lights that appear where your fingers should be placed. USB devices should run the gamut of from scanners to storage, speakers, etc. Most companies were supposedly waiting till the release of Win 98 to launch their products since that's when USB will be fully enabled in the PC world.
