SPLN has no valuable sports franchise.

ESPN is fast pulling away as the leader for online sports information:

global-press.co.uk

ESPN receives a far greater number of "hits" and unique visitors than Sportsline.

Sportsline is suffering from an influx of major competitors. All of them have existing sports franchises and vast experience in sports journalism. Some of these competitors include:

Sports Illustrated
NBC/MSNBC Sports
Fox Sports
The Sporting News

Sportsline was started by a group of individuals with little or no experience in Sports journalism. In my opinion, the ESPN and SI sites are far superior to Sportsline for their appearance, features, ease-of-use, and depth of sports coverage.

SPLN insiders have recently sold off 2,000,000 shares in a secondary at prices near the all-time high.
