Weekly wrap Thanks to everyone who provided a weekly wrap-up. I am not going to repeat that, what a great week it was! Instead, please indulge a bit as I touch on a different theme.

The theme I want to touch on is one that is not often heard these days: truth, character, integrity, honesty, and wisdom. Unfortunately, these themes are far from the daily workings of Wall Street, and in particular BB stocks. But I don't think they were always this far away in our nation's history, and I don't think they are today totally absent. What we saw this week is the strength that comes when average people, not professional money men, come together and believe in an idea, and in a company. And stick to that idea even in the face of some pretty sickening and, as much as I hate to use the word, evil, tactics.

I know I am expressing personal beliefs and opinions, but I believe our society is driven by the ying and the yang, the good and the evil. I also know there are many shades of gray, and that we ourselves fight with these forces within oursleves. But that is ok, because we are only human. However, there are critical points in our destinies in which we are called to stand up for good versus evil, for what is right rather than what is wrong, for truth versus lies. I think this week was one of those times.

Does good always triumph? Does truth always win? We don't have to go though a lot of history, unfortunately, to answer that in the negative. However, I believe that it does not matter. I believe that we will not be called upon in the end to answer as to whether good won out, or truth won out. I believe we will be asked what we did when adversity hit. Which side did we stand on?

This week we stood firm and strong. And you know what? I think that is a much more important thing for each one of us than how DGIV ended the week. Ask our Vietnam Veterans.
