I think that what AMZN may want to do is to increase the market cap as much as possible before dilution (to pay off the bond) is required. The upcoming split is one such opportunity. Split it to 46ish and watch it go up to 100. Then split it again. And again if possible. Then, come 2003, dilute to pay the bond. The dilution will be more than offset by the gain in market cap. Amazing if true or if possible.
