(I posted this earlier, but it wasn't responded to, so I thought I would ask again)

I am interested in what will undoubtedly become a battle between cable modems and DSL as the future connection for the end users. I would like to get the engineer's perspective as well as the business perspective on the two. Personally, I can't see cable modems as the future connection for the 'Net because the speed decreases as more users log on. On the flip side, I see a lot of big companies (CSCO, INTC, MSFT, to name a few)supporting this technology (and I am not saying that they don't support DSL). I have seen plenty of marketing for DSL connections in the newspaper as well as other places and I
realize that Cisco's purchase of Netspeed was also in this direction. Can you and the thread share your opinion/facts?? Thanks,

JRH
