**Debunking Y2K Spike Dates Hype?***

Thanks Otter! I would never take a sincere response like that the "wrong way".....I am looking for truth or something as close to it as can be had. We are all making real life decisions about how to plan for this, and any and all contributions are welcome!

The "False End of File" problem is outlined in Jim Lord's book "A Survival Guide for the Year 2000 Problem." July 1, 1998 is the first of many "spike dates" he lists.

I hope that you and others on this thread can either support or disprove the other dates he lists:

1. July 1, 1998:
Start of fiscal year 1999 for 46 states. FEOF problem debunked as hype? Any takers?

2. October 1, 1998
First day of the U.S. Gov't fiscal year 1999.

3. Jan. 1, 1999
First day of calendar year 1999.

4. July 1, 1999
Start of fiscal year 2000 for 46 states.

5. Oct. 1, 1999
First day of the U.S. Gov't fiscal year 2000.

6. Jan. 1, 2000
First day of calandar year 2000.

7. Feb. 29, 2000
Unexpected leap year......

Any ideas on which dates will or will not produce any disruption. No disruption at all for Y2K or ??????

WHEN the disruption will become visible is important for obvious reasons from the standpoint of preservation of investments.......
