"They shake out some shares by scaring people into selling. An old game." Give me a break. you make it sound like you are the only intelligent investor out there. People sell for any number of reasons. I also think you are using MM's as a scapegoat. There are hundreds of BB stocks going up. Why is FAMH the only stock being held down? MM's don't short as much as you think. You are wrong that they are guaranteed a profit. For example, an MM sells to you 10,000 shares at $.40. What if the bid is at $.38, but no one is willing to sell, the MM moves the bid to $.39, but no one is willing to sell, the MM moves the bid to $.40, etc. The MM could lose money if the first seller he finds is at $.41. He lost money. Once again I say the MM's don't care if the price goes up or down, they want activity. Also in my simplistic example it is still supply and demand that determines the price. If investors are willing to sell at .37, .36, .35, that is the direction the price will head. When there are no sellers, but many buyers that is when the price will go up. It's simple.
