Jury,
If I knew what /pax was, I'm sure I could translate into English units. Even in America, all sane people (ie. Engineers) use metric!
You're probably right about there not being many advances in aerodynamics. I think the 777 looks a lot like the 707 (except for size, wing tip thingies, and small misc). What if - we had no planes? Most likely we would move closer to where we really wanted to be! Or die trying to get there.
I almost bought BA when it was 45 (in Oct.) but decided against it when I suddenly became a bit poorer. I think it's a great company with great prospects, if they can fix their production problems. Maybe you can tell us about Airbus?
Happy trading,
The Winsurfer!
BTW - When I was in Arizona, they were trying an experiment. All the signs were (on this highway) in KM instead of miles. BUT, they still had speed limits listed in MPH. Talk about messed up - 100KM to the next town at 60MPH is how long??? The alternative would be: "Gee officer, the sign said I could go 120!"
ALSO, Wing tip thingies - I think they are called spoilers, but I'm not sure. They help minimize the rotating vortices generated by the wings. |
